More winnin'

1055 hands, +$169. Things started out more or less par for the course as I got absolutely setup in one of my very first hands:

After he pushed I wasn't crazy about calling, but couldn't exactly lay it down. This was a very tight and unimaginative player and this is the only way he gets my stack this hand (I fold to a 4bet from this guy, no question), but I figured he had AK just often enough to make the call. I wept.

To be perfectly honest I have no idea how I battled back to even. I had one hand at a deepstack table where there was a raise (to $3.50) a reraise (to $12) and a call with me yet to act with AA. I decided to come over the top to $88, an overraise, as I was a bit nervous about setmining and didn't want to give anything resembling odds. I don't think anyone laid down KK. I battled back with a few decent pots, then lost a big one again with QK top pair against flopped bottom set (lost ~$30) then won $34 with QQ overpair against JJ (nice PSB on the river from oop). Smooth-called a tight, unimaginative player's EP raise with AK, flopped the king, smooth-called a cbet and a 3barrel, pushed him off with a river v.bet. Turned a boat with 88 against a shortstack that rivered a baby flush, stacked him for $27. Stacked a shortstack, my 9Ts against his 88, flopped TP. Flopped top set with JJ, won a baby pot, flopped TP from the SB w/J8s in a multiway, won a decent little pot. Was the 5th limper into a pot with QhTh, checked flop 7-ways, turned Q, called two bets from a donkey that limped utg with Q2, won that pot. 3bet a LAGtard's EP raise from the CO with AKs, he called, flopped the A, got him AI w/AQ, won $50.

Somehow all those minimal-to-moderate pots put me back even. Then I played an interesting one w/7h8h:

Staring at a $43 call into a $100 pot I have pretty clear equity against his range, I think. Pokerstoving it up, against TT+, 66, 55 I have 31% equity, against that plus spade+overcard hands I have 30.6%. Against sets only I have 25%, a clear fold, but I felt this player was a little more wild than that and just the sort to cold-call with his big pair pre. Mildly profitable call.

As for the call of the original $15 bet, that was trivial. He had a tendency to bet too big when he was bluffing and it was an ideal candidate for a big float/steal (or float/vbet given the turn).

Pretty much breakeven poker from there on out. Can't complain about 8 PTBB/100, particularly when the biggest hand of the night was a total setup against me.
