The flop check/call with bottom set was justified, I think, as it seemed like a pretty dry board; the problem was that almost every damn draw got there and the wrong guy woke up; by the river I was seriously thinking about letting it go as 9T and 79 were both very real possibilities. I couldn't actually do that though, as my hand is so ridiculously underrepped and all sorts of weird 2pairs and the occasional bluff was also part of his range.
I'll admit that he had some stones for firing at this board the way he did. He said "LOL" after the hand, which could have meant one of two very polarizing things: LOLing at me because I had a set and never bet or raised it, and tanked the river bet, or LOL because he can't believe I called off when he was so aggressively repping the straight.
Also had a gift in the BB where the button stole, the SB called, and I popped up AA. The button folded, but then the SB came over the top. I went WTF for a few seconds before repopping, he instashoved, I instacalled, he showed AKs. Strange way to play it but still a cooler for him. $460 pot. I wasn't about to complain.
Crossing my fingers that I can continue to win at the level. I want to get some serious volume in this month.
